The SNA's portion of the proceeds from the Sheffield Music Festival & Garden Walk fund upgrades and maintenance in Trebes and Clover Parks, including new beds in Trebes in 2005 and 2007 and planting more than 500 bulbs in Clover with St. Josaphat 8th graders as part of their service project. In 2009 mulch and 100 plants were added to perennial beds in Trebes, which received 1st place in 2008 and 2009 in the Mayor's Landscape Awards for community gardens. SNA's Award-Winning Beautification Program has included planting 225 trees, installation and maintenance of 75 surface planters, and hanging 125 colorful Sheffield street banners identifying Sheffield as the Garden District of Chicago.
In 2009 mulch and 100 plants were added to perennial beds in Trebes, which received 1st place in 2008 and 2009 in the Mayor's Landscape Awards for community gardens. In 2010, plants and mulch were provided by a grant from the Parkways Foundation and Home Depot - Lincoln Park. Ten Home Depot Associates helped plant and mulch during a workday. And Trebes again received 1st place in the Mayor's Landscape Awards program.
Proceeds fund distribution of the bi-monthly Sheffield Neighborhood News to every resident, business, and institution in the Sheffield neighborhood.
In addition, proceeds fund SNA's Concerts and Movies in Trebes Park, sponsorship of local children's sports, a neighborhood outing to a DePaul Women's Basketball Game, 43rd Ward Senior Bingo, and other events.
